Collecting Flowers

Writer's picture: Melly ShafferMelly Shaffer
For this project, i decided to use 2 cut file. The Collecting flowers, and the bee wreath! I love taking photos of all the little guys that are in my garden helping it grow! The bumble bee is so precious going from flower to flower!
For this project, i decided to use 2 cut file. The Collecting flowers, and the bee wreath! I love taking photos of all the little guys that are in my garden helping it grow! The bumble bee is so precious going from flower to flower!

For this layout, i created some black and yellow splatters going around the bee wreath, before adhering cutfile. I didn't want to back it or ink it, i liked the white with splattering coming from under it, there was enough contrast to make the bee wreath pop out against the splatters. I added some black pearls to the center of the flowers as well.

For the second cut file, I used Tim Holtz Mustard Seed, and inked the entire file. I loved how it matched the flowers in the photos.. so i kept the layout simple utilizing those 3 colors, and making those cut files pop.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum. I added some paper flowers, matching the yellow and white, some white pearls to dress them up, and some beautiful sequins for some sparkle, and a little black nuvo drops just for funzies.
