Hidden Elelments Challenge

For the final challenge over on the Twilight Craft Facebook page I have opted for an Easter Egg Hunt, hidden elements theme. I went slightly overboard with my examples on my page - the requirement is just for one!

Hidden photo book

I used one 6 x 4 inch landscape photo and 4 6 x 4 inch portrait photos. I cut each of the portrait photos into a 4 inch square.

I used some scrap card to create a border on each of the 4 x 4 square photos with a slight variation in widths.

I scored each of the card borders and my 6 x 4 photo 1cm from the edge, and then glued them together in a stack. I used more card to create a binding around the photo stack.

Voila! You now have a photo book ready to stick to your page.

Faux Shaker Box

I have a love / hate relationship with shaker boxes. I love how they look, but I'm really bad at getting every single hole fully stuck down which generally results in glitter & beads etc all loose in my album where something has escaped from the box! I'm currently working with a reduced scrap stash while my office is being refurbished and am down on beads and glitter. So I decided to see if I could make a fake shaker box with mica powder & sequins that are firmly glued on.

First I backed my cutfile onto some plastic. I would usually use acetate, but that's packed away so the embellishment packaging came in very handy!

After cutting out around the word Next I went to town on the back of the plastic with a mix of mica powder and glue. I experimented with glossy crystal accents, tombow green glue and some pearlescent glossy accents.

In the gaps between the mica power I stuck down some sequins. Some of which I used a lot of glue with to create a bit of depth for that true faux shaker box feel.

Overall I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I used the same mica powders to give my butterflies some extra pizzaz and tie the whole lyout together

Hidden tag

This one was the easiest hidden element of my page. Simply pick a tag that you like and write your journalling on it. Add a 3d element at the top to make it easier to pull. You could also use string, ribbon or twine. Then create your pocket. I used the corner of another pge which had this great camera element. Make sure that you glue your element down only at the bottom and side edge so your tag can slide in and out.

And there you have it, the finished page
